Megantara
Megantara is the third annual cultural event held by SMAN 3 Bandung. The two others before Megantara, named Gamarvani and Matswapati. The event was organized by our student council, OSIS 63. The 11th and 12th graders were parts of the committee. Some of the freshman also joined the committee.
I myself did not participated because I thought it's going to be super busy, but I clearly regretted it :( The event itself was held on September 10 2016. Opening gate was started at 11.15 am and closed at 02.30 pm. I and fellow classmates, participated on the pre-event parade a few hours earlier. The parade started from our school (Belitung street) through Sumatera, Merdeka, and Nias street, before it back to our school again. We wore the Sundanese traditional attire, kebaya for the girls and pangsi for the boys. There were several kindergartens joined the parade. The pupils were so cute, they wore princesses, animals, and also traditional costumes. I and my bestie, Azka, attended the main event at 12.30 pm. She arrived earlier than me. We met in the Lekker Story corner. We ordered some Lekkers, it is a traditional snacks to us, Sundanese people. Then we took a walk around the event.
There were many stands and food courts. There is even food trucks. They offered various kind of food and beverages; nasi padang, takoyaki, lumpia basah, and the list goes on. The stands divided into several parts. They were the Sumatra section, the Kalimantan section, the Papua section, the Sulawesi section, and the Java section. The main stage was placed in the last section. It was big and awesome. Above the stage there were a big 'Megantara' banner.
When the lunch hours came, Azka and I bought Hawaiian Burgers, each for ourself. I bought a cup of chocolate ice cream. I can not finished it for it was too much. We then sat on the grass near the main stage. We talked about many things because we have not met in so long. Our other friends also joined us; Hilwa, Diva, also many friends from middle school. As times goes by, there were more people crowded.
The shows begun at dawn. There were a performance of T'sT, our school's cabaret group. They entertained us by an awesome cabaret about Nusantara. There were Joker and Harley Quinn on the show, made the show more interesting. After the cabaret, there was a comedy show. Azka and I watched the show from a quite distance because of the crowds. After the comedy show, The Changcuters, the infamous Pop-group, gave us some amazing performances. It was a news for me knowing that the vocalist was one of the alumni of SMAN 5. I loved it.
Sadly, I need to go home early (strict parents things). I left the event while The Changcuters was still on the stage because it was already past my curfew. I did not want to make my parents worry. My mom pick me up at 07.30 pm. I told her about my day and the fun I and my friends just had.
